Originally from Santa Barbara, Lee Gillette moved to the High Country with his family during the summer of 1990. Lee spent the early part of his childhood in the Blowing Rock area until moving to Boone, where he attended Watauga High School. During that time, Lee cultivated a deep love and appreciation for the area. Lee spent a great deal of time outdoors hiking in the summer and skiing at AppSki Mountain during the winter.

Lee Gillette attended Appalachian State University to study Hospitality and Tourism Management in the Walker College of Business and graduated in the spring of 2005. After moving out of the area for a short time, Lee quickly realized that the High Country is where his heart belonged! He enjoys spending as much time outside as he can working in the yard, playing golf and tennis, or exploring all this area has to offer.

Lee’s wife just had their first child in February of 2018 and they are excited to raise a true Mountaineer!
