Fourth of July Shenanigans


Boone 4th of July Parade

July 4th from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

The Downtown Boone annual 4th of July parade travels east on King Street, starting at the intersection with Poplar Grove Extension and ending at Legends on Hardin St. (around the corner from Dan’l Boone Inn). Following the parade, the Town of Boone continues the celebration with free cookies and refreshments on the lawn of the Jones House Cultural and Community Center (604 W. King Street).

Town of Boone Fireworks

July 4th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Join in the festivities at Clawson/Burnley Park at 355 Hunting Hills Lane (off State Farm Rd.) starting with DJ music at 7:00 pm and fireworks by Zambelli starting at 9:30 pm.

Fireworks Extravaganza at Tweetsie Railroad

July 4th starting at 9:00 pm

Enjoy the most spectacular fireworks show in the High Country! It’s one of the most popular Summer events in the mountains. Spend the day at Tweetsie Railroad. The Park is open from 9 am to 9 pm on the Fourth. There is NO charge for parking! Take advantage of the optional dinner and VIP Fireworks viewing in the Hacienda. An all-you-can-eat buffet will be served with all the trimmings. Don’t miss out! Availability is limited. Get your wristband at the Ticket Office. $25 for Adults and $20 for Children age 3-12 (in addition to Admission fee). Enjoy fireworks under the stars at 9:30 pm after the park closes!

Blowing Rock – 4th of July Festival and Parade

July 6th from 12:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Join the town of Blowing Rock for games, music, and fun! Free entertainment all day, plus a small-town parade at 2 p.m. All events take place in downtown Blowing Rock, except the fireworks which will be held at the Blowing Rock Country Club at dusk. The public is welcome at the Club for this special event. Find games and music in Memorial Park on Main Street.

32nd Annual Christmas in July Festival

July 6th from 9:00 am – 7:00 pm

Visit historic downtown West Jefferson for the annual Christmas in July Festival. Saturday, July 6, brings the festival to life from 9am-7pm with arts & crafts, music acts featured all day long, civil war reenactments, food, non-profits, kids activities, street performers, a Christmas tree judging contest, tree bailing competitions and wreath making demonstrations! Find an array of local and regional music, food vendors, fun and festivities for the entire family at Christmas in July in downtown West Jefferson! Admission is free.

Todd Liberty Parade

July 4th starting at 11:00 am

The Todd Liberty Parade meanders through downtown Todd ending at Cook Park with live music by the King Bees, dancing, and food to purchase. If you would like to walk in the parade, please be at the big field at the corner of Hwy 194 and Todd Railroad Grade Road at 10:00 a.m. to pick out a costume or banner. All are welcome to join. The costumes and decorations are handmade and free for all to use during the parade.
